I started looking into soap making during the coronavirus pandemic, as an idle musing mainly to distract myself from the collapsing world around me. Eventually, it became a minor hobby, and an idea for a business venture.

I had always been interested in science, philosophy (especially pessimism), self-sufficiency, and homemade goods. Soap making provided me with an opportunity to combine all of these (with a bit of shoehorning for the pessimism, at least).

So now I make soap and write about philosophy. It is not my full-time occupation (yet), but it provides distraction and means-to-live in this soul-crushing enterprise we call existence.
